Hi guys, on my previous car I managed to collect a nice round up of Vibe Audio products...

Headunit: eonon E0821

Fronts: Vibe SEK60

Backs: Vibe QB69s

SubWoofer: Vibe Black Air 10" with enclousre and Amp.

So far I have fitted the fronts and the rears but I can't make up my mind wether or not to add the rest. I don't want to chav up my car but at the same time I miss having a laugh with the bass and the fact the sound never bottomed out like it does on the OEM setup.

Its a big enough boot! You won't miss the space used by a single sub :)

Even so, they're simple to remove in the event you need the extra space.

Go for it, but use the OE headunit, and use the blaupunkt pre-out cable to get proper rear outs.

I guess your amp has the proper low pass filtering on it.

Were the fronts and backs direct replacements? I want to upgrade my ICE but would rather have direct replacements

I haven't lost any boot space with my sub - but the box is a bit smaller than it should be :)

Yeah, just a straight swap, really easily done. My speakers didn't fit though so they are help on with one screw but so tightly wedged in that they cant move. Be aware it is a rather shallow hole so if you have a deep speaker like me you might get some problems.

As an extra touch, on my pracel shelf I didn't want people seeing my 6x9's so I screwed them underneath the parcel shelf and felted over the top.

What is the blaupunkt pre-out? Yeah I have it on the sub and an actual amp but one of the channels has gone dead so I need a new one.

It's a cable which connects to the back of the oe headunit, allowing you to use amps with RCA inputs. The VAG headunit has the same pinout as blaupunkt ones.

Gives you FL, FR, RL, and RR line outputs.

Like this:

It goes into the yellow mini-iso connector on the back.

I'm adding a system in September as the lack of real bass at the moment is driving me mad!

Same, I think I might just have todo it lol. Now just to get some money for the wires. What is the easiest way of going through the bulk head? Also what is the best way to route the cables?

I did it like this:

There's a grommet behind the glovebox

You can also go through the black plastic cover at the opposite end to the panel filter. A lot of wiring for the ecu etc goes through there. Maybe easier if you're running the power cable down the drivers side of the car.

Is this the hole you're refering to ?

Does feed the wire into the cab in the right direction to then run down passanger side.

You need to use a rubber gromit and cutter sealant or grease to waterproof the hole. Its the lowest part of the area, and the plastic trim that fits above can overflow into here too :o

If I were doing it again, might be tempted to go underneath the car, and come up into the boot using one of the existing holes in the area, or just drill a new one :giggle:

Nope, didn't mean there.

It's under the scuttle panel, but at the drivers side. There is a black plastic cover with 2 nuts on either side. There's a load of multiplugs under it.

Like you said though, would be better to go underneath the car, obvioulsy away from the zorst.

How would I go about routing it under the car? Wouldnt it be more subsettable to getting broken? On the Rover I put the cables all together and had a nice bit of interferance from it, would routing it this way stop it?

As long as you don't run power cables and signal cables together you should be ok.

I ran the power cable and remote switch cable doen the drivers side and the signal cable down the passenger side. Works perfectly.

There isn't really anywhere under the car to clip the cable to either. You could possibly go behind the exhaust heatshield, but it wouldn't be ideal. Too much chance of it getting damaged.

Sounds like a lot more trouble than it is worth. I will just go through the car haha.
