Hi Everyone,

Im new to this forum so please be gentle with me. I currently own a Toyota Corolla and I am thinking of changing it in sepetember for a Octavia 1.6 TDI elegance. As with most people these days i want a good deal on one. Has any one here had any experiences with Skoda dealers in derbyshire / Nottinghamshire. My local dealer is Rainworth near Mansfield.

Are there good deals to be had as i know there is a VAT free deal this year, but would it be possible to haggle down even more

Drive the deal have a new 1.6cr for 13,800, unfortunatly it has a dsg box but it is a good price I think.

I believe Rainworth have a good reputation. My tip would be to avoid Clock Garage in Derby though - they were ok for me and delivered the car very quickly, but they weren't what you might call personable

Since the DSG is a >£1000 option, I'm sure a dealer should be able to do similarly well on a manual box if pushed.

Just had an Email back from Rainworth Skoda and they said that they would fix the price ontil end of september, So no nasty VAT increase if it gets delivered next year!

Thread sideways sorry about this.....Looking to change my 1.6 TDI CR Elegance to vRS Hatch CR 170 My 1.6 has 8500 MILES and lots of toys, m/f wheel, maxi dot, rear blind, light assist. I hear you can get around £13,800 - £14,200 private sale or part ex around £13,000 do you have any vRS CR s in stock or what deal can be done?? Thanks

As for the 1.6 CR TDI its a great car just not powerful enough for us anymore we have alway had larger engines and find this very smooth and eco but we want the punch back.

Would the fact that they will fix the price and that they are in such high demand ruin the chances of a good discount?
