vagcom MAF log

Featured Replies

finally got the log readable...take a look and please tell me if MAF is knockout or not. EGR is closed right (just to check)?

thanks in advance.

Nice graph.... dunno about your MAF though. Line looks rather flat to me.

I now have vagcom working again (PCMCIA Serial card for my laptop) so if I get a chance I will try and create a similar graph. Where did you get VAGLog from, or is it something I need to buy?

I have an old set of stats here: CSV file if you wanna graph it up and compare.

I compared with yours but the log it's not the same...don't have specified MAF to compare with actual MAF. anyway, in my graph the line in red is specified MAF and in yellow it's the actual MAF, I can see I need to buy a new one lol, maybe I'll buy a new MAP sensor as well because I doubt that sensor is ok in a car with 310 000 kms and 11 years and since the symptoms of bad MAP is fuel comsumption and lack of power, adding a bad MAF, a TDI becomes worst than a SDI.

doesn't look good. it should at least keep up with specified maf not tail off.

I'll try and log something a bit more useful later - can you remember which channel(s) you were logging?

shoould follow specific pretty much all the way some deviation is expected but not that much

unplug maf and go for a drive

p.s log it so we just see g/s please easier to read

lol yes, I have torque at low rev but as soon as the engine rpm passes the 2900, the car doesn't gain any kind of power. the rev goes up slowly and the power freezes.

yes, channel 003. take a look at this test http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a4/MAF-sensor-testing-VW-cleaner.htm

get a log of boost too. because if its a turbo sticking problem it wont be able to pull the right amount of air thru the MAF.

I often get stuck vanes in my turbo :-( Twice on the way to work this morning. Seems worse on a tank of this new Shell "get an extra litres worth of miles" from your tank full. :-(

I doubt that because don't have any anormal symptoms that I read on net. I'm going to a specialized house to diagnose my car before doing anything. if it's only MAF or MAP, I'll buy it and mount it myself. if it's another thing, than I'll figured it out :)
