OMG Octavia Demand is pretty high!

Featured Replies

Okay,

So i ordered a Octavia VRS with the following added options:

Black Metallic paint

Full Black leather interior

Heated Front Seats

Price £ well i shouldn't say as i am in the army and it will only annoy people if they see how cheap i bought it for!!!

Anyway, I ordered the car in mid of June and was told an estimated delivery date of end of September, so, 14 weeks i thought.... not to bad i guess.

Then after reading through this website (only just joined) and gaining some information it seems i made an error in not ordering the Maxidot computer..... no problems i thought, just phone up and get it added, they won't even have started to build the car yet, and then shock horror!!!!!!!

Skoda, can't cope with all the demands, not only is my car delayed now until the end of october but if i now changed it to include the Maxidot, then i would be looking at delivery date of JANUARY :o

Looks like i will be staying with the normal trip computer and hoping that the car isn't delayed anymore

From what you say it appears you got a very favorable price from some one for the car.

Did you get special terms as a result of being in the army?

I don't think many of the members would be annoyed if you got a better deal than most of us.

Just say - good luck to you as you deserve it for being in the forces.

However, it would be most beneficial and helpful if you would post some figures as it would enable all to know what sort of price margins are achievable, even if we can't get them.

We all know that in the end there is only one winner in the price war, and that of course is the stealer.

Fair comment i guess,

I got it from a Tax Free car sales place that deal mainly with the forces so not only do forces personnel get it tax free but also normally get a bit of a discount too

So when i first phoned up i got a Base price of £12495 for the Octavia 2.0T FSI VRS and then with the added extras of the paint, leather and heated seats it bumped the price up to £13700 which as you can imagine i am amazingly happy with :)

I paid £16500

I have a horrible feeling that yours may have been pushed back because of the zero VAT on the Octy vRS, which i dont think you will get because of the special circumstances.

It may be that the UK orders taking zero VAT are being shuffled up the list so as delivery before 31 Dec is reached before VAT is put back on @ 20%, also so as not to tick off customers who want the car with zero VAT.

I know this sound unfair, but I saw plenty of accounts on the Fiat site where scrappage cars being used as partial deposits for the new Fiat500 orders were pushing the non scrappage orders down the list. The dealers hotly denied this, but i ordered my 500 before this came in & got it when I was originally told ( no delay).

BTW - Had the sales people given you a build week date ?

May be you should contact SUK (08457 745 745) and ask them why the extra 2 months wait if you want maxidot.

Sorry just realised you are based in Germany so forget SUK!
