My MDI works with my 5th Gen iPod but not with my iPhone 3GS (flashes up unsupported accessory). I understand it could be possible to make your own MDI -> iPod lead which would work in a limited way with only a couple of resistors required to fool the iphone. Maybe skoda will have a revised lead available soon but i doubt it.

The MDI unit is about to (or has recently) changed for factory builds. There's a new part number for a smaller MDI box in ETKA (the parts catalogue). Possibly a change there?

I ordered my car without MDI (can't remember why because i was going to) and i regretted it ever since, so i only just finished retrofitting it the other day. iPods are so much easier than SD cards for me (i use itunes).

The iphone will plug into the AUX-in in the armrest but not controllable by touchscreen on the bolero that way.

If you buy a fiscon bluetooth unit you can play music off the iphone over that too.

I've put an old ipod in the glovebox and will just bring it in the house weekly to refresh the weeks podcasts. My iPhone stays in my pocket and i use a fiscon bluetooth adapter for the car to speak to it.
