Coolant issue!

Featured Replies

Hello all

This may seem a simple thing to ask but my little Skoda Fabia 1.4 8 valve seems to be loosing water. After about 100 miles or so the water will drop below the Minimum line on the bowl and there does not seem to be any obvious sign of leaking.

Dip stick oil seems to be ok (not discoloured) a little discolouration of oil on the oil cap tho possibly due to short trips maybe?

I was worried for the head gasket but apart from a little water loss i dont seem to have any other symtoms such as over heating or smoke.

One thing I dont quite know is that when my Mrs has been driving the car on longer runs (i.e 100 miles or so) she has had the blowers on full cold.Would this cause the Fabia to use more water from the cooling system?

Any help at all would be brilliant

Thanks

Hi Craig, you may want to put this in the Fabia Owners Section for a greater response
