Decat fitted

Featured Replies

Finally got chance to fit the 3" piper DP/Cat I bought from Timmyboy cheap as the cels failed MOT.

I knocked all the cels out and got an exhaust place to weld an adaptor on to mate to my standard system. There is very little extra noise maybe a little more in the cabin but you do get more spool noise.

I would compare the decat to filling up with v power from 95 ron, I have noticed a slightly earlier spool but nothing ground breaking. I suppose the best part about it is I can now go stage 2 or stage 3 if I buy a cat back.

:)

About time ;)

Having tried one a while back, I'd stick a Shark stage 2 on it.

Nice work, I wouldn't imagine there will be a lot of difference until you go to stage 2, if memory serves you don't need any further exhaust mods for stage 3, just a HPFP and a suitable air intake.

As Timmyboy suggests, go with Shark, especially as they are offering a free STS with every remap up until September 1st.

I'll be going back to DNA, their upgrade to stage 2 or 3 is only an extra £150.

Pagey Are you still on stock zhaust?

I am in talks with Ben at Shark as I have an Angel remap, hopefully he will sort out a standard map and stage 2, although Angel can tweak my current map for a £100, I just like the idea of the STS.

Affirmative to the standard exhaust, I did order a blueflame decat several months ago, but was let down on delivery so cancelled, I will probably go with the Pipewerx.

I would recommend a full 3" system for a stage 3 tune.

With twin stacked outlets of course!

I Just emailed my guy about minimum requirements I would need for stage 3. I did look at the Jetex 3" a while back but am a little worried by the extra noise.

you need a piper cat back exhaust in your life

Update: The exhaust seems to have settled a bit and is a bit noisier, also I'm noticing quite a bit of extra low end torque but I think the map is limiting high end power so I've not noticed much difference there. My cel light came on yesterday relating to cat efficiency lol. I will be going stage 3 in November with the cel light mapped out so that should fix that prob and also get me bags more top end power
