Starter Motor?

Featured Replies

Hi, my car refused to start twice today once we got it back up and running with jump leads second time nothing got it going. Had to tow it back.

Looks like its the starter motor. How much is it to get 1 normally and is it a easy job?

Last time I looked I think they were over £100.

not too hard to fit, just have to take the battery and battery tray out, undo some multiplugs and move some wiring out of the way, and undo a couple of bolts, slide the old one out and fit the new one.

Sure its not the battery? Had a car that refused to start with jump leads when the battery was flat but started first time th AA jump started it

It was the starter motor, a mechanic spent a couple of hours with it and managed to fix it. Started it up about 4 times seems fine so far, touch wood. Cheapest I could find was £60 and I had to give them the old motor.

I'll pay the mechanic £20, should last hopefully..
