Hello one and all, I have spent the last year rebuilding a 1.9 deisel pickup which I believe to be pretty good. I am thinking of building another one this winter and am looking for information on Skoda gearbox ratios. I would like to put a 147bhp golf gti engine in it but it would need to be married up to the Skoda gearbox as all sorts of problems would result from fabricating new mountings if the VW box was fitted. I understand the Skoda box is very strong and would take the power but I need to check the ratios. I cannot imagine the 1.3-1.6-1.9 D all have identical ratios or final drive, can anyone advise?

If anyone needs advise or info on any aspect of these fabulous vehicles please ask, I know most things about them I am just lacking on this drivetrain stuff. Cheers, Roborobs.
