Does anyone know if the procedure is the same as the mk1 octavia before I attempt it when I get home later today?

I think that it is in the long coding. Go into recode (07) on the convenience system (46) and use the long coding helper and place your cursor in each block, you will then see the check boxes below, tick or un tick the relevant boxes and that should be it. Make a note of the code before you change anything. You will need a CAN capable cable.
