New Octavia vRS

Featured Replies

Recently, I trade an Octavia Elegance 2005 2.0 Tdi with all the possible options in it for a new Octavia vRS 2010 Diesel. For the new one, none extras wore ordered because the stealer told me the vRS has all of them (I ordered the Columbus only). When I received the car, found that it hasn't electric seats with memory neither multifunction steering wheel like the previous one (both manual gear).

Now my questions are: will it be possible to retrofit the steering wheel to have a multifuntion one? And the eletric seats? Will it be possible to retrofit the seats as weel in order to have electric regulation at lest on the driver side?

The multifunction steering wheel should not be too much of a problem although they are not that cheap to buy. I take it you are not in the UK? In the UK the car has to be DSG to get the MFSW and you can only get the MFSW with the paddles on them.

The seats are going to be more of a problem and I feel they will be prohibitively expensive. In the UK you can not get electric seats with the VRS so you would not be able to get the VRS seats with the electrics (again if you are not in the UK this may be an option). However, new seats would cost at least £ik I would imagine and you would then need to include all the controllers and electrics so the cost would be high.

HI

Thanks for your prompt reply. In fact I'm not in UK but from Portugal. Here, if you want a MFSW, you only get it if the car is ordered with the DSG (more 2000 plus Euros) and the electric seats are not an option for the vRS. My hope was that the retrofit was possible and not to expensive but by your reply, Id better live with what I got.

Thanks again

I think electric seats, you only play with them once and then leave alone , only the ones like my lexus had where it knows which position to put seats in depending on which key has unlocked it are worth it

My previous Octavia does that: depending on the key used to unlock the car, the driver seat and the exterior mirrors automatically adjust for the user position. This feature is very useful specially if the car is used by two people with different stature.
