I think it will, like you said just need to extend the back box.

The centre pipe (res or non res section) with fit as well as the axle pipe but the backbox will be different.

Just to comfirm the back box will mount but really 1ft or so short end pipe wise.. one i am looking at has been modded with a down swept end so i could either get a new end or add my own for standard look?
