'Old School Cool' - Knightrider......

Featured Replies

Strange old motor the BMW 8. Never really found it's market place.... to coupe'ish to be a cruiser, To big to be a sports coupe.. It got stuck in the middle and it's only real competition were the S Class coupes of the time... but they were defiantly cruisers.

I read recently in a BMW owners mag that they did try to do a soft top version for the states.. but that strangely, although being the stiffest BMW made to date when new, they just couldn't find a way to get the stiffness back in to the shell once the top had gone.. The fully finished prototype still exists somewhere and looks gorgeous, but it's the only one.

I do love them though, and that detail session leaves that one looking lush!

One question, was that golf a GTi by any chance? hehe!

Stunning car and rare to find a manual. I seem to remember them suffering from electrical gremlins. Still looks good today
