Sunset or Sunset privacy Glass

Featured Replies

I'm picking up my vRS estate next wednesday. Whilst looking at the Skoda UK web site (like you do) I noticed on the options list 2 Sunset glass types, Sunset and sunset privacy, £65 and £210 respectively. I ordered sunset glass back in april and paid £210 I have seen my new car in the dealer compound and can see into the car so I guess its not privacy glass. Do I have grounds for a £145 refund?

I have not seen any mention of the 'sunset privacy', but the sunset glass is indeed a £210 option and is roughly twice as tinted as the front windows.

As for grounds for a refund?

I'd clarify with the dealer - it's likley to be a play on words. You and I know what 'privacy' glass is, ie the Beckham's Range Rover, but I doubt very much a dealer would fit this level of tint - it's more likely to be a dark tint, hence yo can still see through, albeit on a sunny day perhaps. What ever the result I'd go for a refund - call it a gesture of good will!

As far as I am aware there is only one sunset glass option which is £210. This is what I went for with my estate (there was no privacy glass option, this was May this year so could have change recently).

If you order it with the privacy glass/sunset glass same thing, it must come with it.

If the body colour is dark and it´s sunny you may not see as good from far away.

See my picture, the back windows are down soo look at the ones on the boot and the small one on the doors

but if you close all windows with tint it will get darker.

i have the same on my superb and i`m going to apply tint on side windows in front as well do get it a little bit darker and more nice to look at.

since the glasses in back is not much tinted i will go for a film that compares with it.

Before you put on, try to see one and even drive it at night. You will see why you should not have on the front doors.

Simple, interior mirror has auto dimm, at night when drivers are behind you turn off auto dimm(wait a few seconds) then turn it on and see what is the dif.

Go to the back seat and be a passenger at night, see how dificult it may become to see at certain things.( skoda tints aren´t very dark, imagine ford)

Look better and you can see that most people who have tinted windows (plastic is worse) on the front doors, always drive around town with the window half open. Why?

I had it on my VW G60 and took it off.
