New tyre from Kuhmo, might be worth a look....

Featured Replies

Hi all, just a note to say that Kumho has recently bought a new 'sport' tyre out which is the KU39 (pretty sure thats right,l will check tomorrow at work lol)

Based on a mix of the Mich PS and Conti tread pattern, spoken to a few of our customers who have bought and fitted them to customers cars and so far its a very positive response.

I know tyres generate rather large threads on any motoring forum so heres a new one to get you all going on :giggle:

Seems to be priced similar to the older KU31 so not mega expensive, mine are gonna need changing in the not too distant future and i am going to be putting these on and see how they go. But ofc if anyone gets some let us know what you think.

A-ha - would seem this is the fabled KU31 replacement then!

Didn't seem right that the update wasn't in the KU line-up any longer...

Will keep an eye on them via TyreReviews

Cheers,

Steve

I used Kumho All Terrain tyres on my last 2 Freelander's and they were excellent. Good grip and long lasting. Now I just need some for the Yeti.

No, those are the KU31 XRP, which stands for eXtended Runflat Performance.

I emailed Camskill this morning as they are currently out of stock of the KU31 in Fabia vRS standard size (205/45/16), and do not currently list the KU39 on their website. I was told that they are expecting the KU31 and KU39 back in stock in a few weeks, and they will be running alongside each other. Therefore, I'm not sure whether the KU31 is actually being replaced or not at the moment.

  • 2 weeks later...

I was told that the Ecsta KH31 was taking over from the KU31's although it reads a little different to that on the Kuhmo website

I've tried the KH31's and preferred them to the KU31 in terms of noise & performance, I also think they look nicer

run kumho on the mrs 4x4 and seem pretty good just not tried them on the octy yet

Ran two on the front of my last Octy - had no complaints and now I need two more - no prizes for guessing what I'm going for. The Dunlop SP's I've got on from new are in need of replacement but I was quoted silly money.
