Rear door locked/broken with no way to open it .

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I search the forum but did not found nothing relevant . I have the rear left door locked with no way to open it . If i try to manualy raise the little thing (dont know how to say it english) which unlocks the door its just going back (like spring) . I try to take the door cover off but it seems that you cannot do it with door closed . Any ideas ? I have a Fabia from 2003 .

hi my first time on this site aswell.

My 2003 fabia estate had the same problem. you can get the door card off with the door closed but it takes time and quite fiddly.

The problem was the central locking door lock had failed, needing a new lock £88 and i had to take it in,a local body shop did the repairs for me as i could not get the sheet plate off, holding the window mechanism on.(wish i had found this site as a member has posted excellent pictures of how to remove the same )the body shop had to strip the door and lock right out took..........3hrs.

one last hope the body shop stated they had had door seals sticking in the heat especially as some rear doors aren't used that much and the child locks can stick but a good spray of WD40 should do it.best of luck
