Bolero question about CD recognition

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

Not that impressed with the Bolero.

Changing a cd involves pressing ‘selection’ then wait, then press CD’s then wait, then only 5 of the 6 Cds are displayed. On my previous VW and Seat cars you could change CD by pressing a single button. :(

My question is on some CDs the track titles and rtist are displayed but on CDs say over five years old it’s just track 1,2 etc and no info. Is there something on a CD that I should look for to know whether track titles will be displayed?

Yeah, the Bolero looks flash, but they haven't really thought through the useability - like there is no way to change folder using buttons, you have to take your eyes off the road to look at the touch-screen. Oh well.

As for the track titles, it's a standard called CD Text: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-Text As you say, it's only found on newer CDs. But I've ripped all my CDs to mp3 and put them on a 16GB SD card anyway, so I've got track titles and no CD change worries (just the folder change problem!)
