Spare Key

Am just about to take delivery of an 03 Superb and it only has 1 flip key. I have found keys on ebay with blank blades. Would it have to be cut and the immobiliser etc reprogrammed by a main dealer or are there any other options? Cheers in advance

Hi , have the same problem, but on a 2001 Octavia. I have ordered a key from ebay @ http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160454117249&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT . I don't know if the parts are the same for the Superb so check. It must have a transponder in it to disable the immobiliser.

Quoted Skoda dealer price (+VAT):

Key 2 button remote £51.44

Key blade £60.72

Key coding £35.00

Getting my new ebay key cut by local locksmith for a fiver and having the transponder recoded by Skoda next week. Hope it works, I'll keep you posted. Or you could just pay the dealer.....

Some local VW Specialist should be able code the key for you for much cheaper i think, Stealer just rip you off
