Octy 4x4 Average Fuel Comsumption

Featured Replies

I have been reading the vRS version of this topic and notice a few 4x4 owners have contributed but I'd like to know of more 4x4 owners experiences with mpg.

The computer has recently reset on my standard 4x4, and it is showing 26.9 mpg over 350 miles. I am thinking this is just a bit too low.

I have just driven like an OAP for 15 miles down the M6, and across the M62 and that journey alone has given a figure of 29.8mpg. I never went of 80 mph!.

My car used to sit around 31 - 33 mpg.

How does everyone else get on? Every journey I do is based around the M6 and M62, I never drive into towns if I can help it so I am thinking a sub 27mpg figure is too low.

It's totally down to driving style, can get 43mpg when cruising on Mway, or early 20's round towns....

if i want i can get real low :D

tother day i went round the south to see a couple members and 250 from half a tank :o but that was sitting at 75 except traffic where i sat at 40

I kept fuel records for tax reasosn for every tank fill-up in my 4x4 (220bhp) over 24,000m (19k to 43k when I sold it due to a company car) :-

NB: FULL TANKS not short trips !

Worst - 19.75 (Briskoda track day ;) )

Best - 36.64

Average - 28.90

Typical all urban / no motorway - 25

Typical all motorway at 85'ish - 31

Typical all motorway at 75'ish - 34

29 mpg average over 2500 miles, 33-36mpg on a 80mph motorway run, town could be down to 23mpg, generally 26ish though.
