Maxidot functionality

Featured Replies

Picking up my new car tommorow and want to know if there is a list somewhere of options that can be changed with Maxidot.

My current vRS doesnt have it, but luckily the dealer had by chance coded the car how id like it prety much, apart from the automatic door locking when drving off...

I'm particularly interested in knowing can you change :

- The locking sequence of the car (1 or 2 presses? deadlocks?)

- Alarm chirp when locking car (mine is silent, new car beeps, dealer said he could turn it off for me)

- Auto door lock when driving off (is this after 15mph or a set time or something?)

- Beeping for the seat belt

If this is covered in a manual somewhere, Ill happily read it myself but cant find it.

Help appreciated, as I dont want to have to make another trip to the dealers for items that need VAGCOM to adjust.

Pics when I get the car, naturally.

All except seat belt and remote presses can be done on maxidot. Others only by vcds.

I believe you can turn off the alarm chirp when locking the car via Maxidot - I can't remember the actual menu options to choose but I'm almost certain you can.

The others I *think* you have to use VCDS....or get your dealer to do it. But there are many far more knowledgable people on here who can tell you for certain

Oh....and congrats on the new car!! :D

EDIT: Gadgetman beat me to it! :giggle:

cheers guys

I think you can change the remote locking number of locks thing on maxidot, just can't remember where it is from memory. I'll have a look later.

You can change the unlocking (1 press drivers door, 2 presses all doors vs. 1 press to do all doors). I don't think you can change the behaviour of locking.

Alarm chirp - yes.

Auto door lock - yes, you can turn it on and off, but you can't change the speed at which it activates. You can also turn on or off unlocking of the doors when you take the key out of the ignition.

Beeping for selt belt - no, but mine doesn't beep anyway for the seat belt.

Cool thanks for the details.

I like the security door lock thing, that only opens the drivers door with one press.

Wasnt aware of unlocking doors when ignition key removed feature.

clever cars huh?!

I quite like the 'chirp' as I lock the doors. This makes sure that all the doors plus bonnet and boot are securely locked and not just on the first latch - this can go unnoticed particularly with the boot and it doesn't 'chirp' if any of them are only half-latched.

If any are on half-latch this can cause the alarm to go off at any time.

Everything apart from sealt belt warning can be done on my FL maxidot. I had to use VCDS to turn the belt warning off.
