Just done it on my octy vrs....b@@@@@d of a job, hair dryer no good at all, just pull them off and tackle the left over sticky with white spirit and a cloth, and use you thumb nail to scrape it off after white spirit has soaked in a bit...good luck took me 3 hours to do both sides.

be wary some people have found bubbling paint underneath

They are just stuck on with two sided tape.

But like it's been said, some people (including myself) have found that the paint has bubbled (rusted in a way) and pealed away underneath the strips. So you might be opening a can of worms mate

I did mine the other weekend. just used a hot air gun and gently heated it and ran a piece of plastic behind it so it wouldn't bend the strip. leaves a lot of mess behind which i can imagine is really hard to get off by hand. but my friend at a body shop took the glue off with a toffee wheel. then just simply polished the area afterwards.

On my Octavia they are just glued on.....on mine very very badly.

Have had 2 simply fall off and had to get them replaced under warranty. Right pain in the **** as the replacements have to be painted to match the car.

Just stuck on, no holes. Did mine with an old debit card and plenty of meths; makes the glue a lot softer so its easy to rub off, then a quick rub with t-cut and a buff with some hard wax,

i was thinking of doing this but i got scared after the bubbling issue does skoda provide paint cover in these situations? :wonder:
