Unmarked Fabia vRS police cars

Featured Replies

Here in NI the police have a red Fabia vRS. Reg begins with AEZ... They have taken the vRS badge off of the front grill and usually let the car get quite dirty! (Just like some of their officer's driving techiques!!!)

Just wondering if any other police forces in the UK use any unmarked Fabia vRS'?

Takes one to know one!

i'm sure various threads (usually started in the "spotted" section!) have mentioned undercover vRS's.

Indeed i thought I had a run-in with an unmarked vRS SE - opposite direction I hasten to add! - recently near Fareham, but other members mentioned that there are a few paramedic response vehicles that match this description. not sure why paramedics would require the unmarked element of it though :wonder:

Lothian and Borders had a couple of unmarked cars and somewhere in the North of England had them as well I think. But that was some time ago. Basically, I think they know that Skoda diesels make excellent all-day cruisers and that's basically what you want in a police car. Also, in NI they have a history of unusual response cars. They had a couple of Mitsubishi Galant VR4 estates at one point. One was the same colour as mine and cars would brake in both directions when they saw me coming. Several people in Waringstown, where I lived, warned me not to park in Lurgan as it would be burned out!

Managers in Training and operations get lease cars, they are all Paramedics/ trainers and get covert blues fitted on the motors which they use like company cars but also respond to incidents.

A manager I know had a Fabia vRS and now has a honda Accord, like some company car drivers I think he gets a budget to use on a suitable vehicle which is then kitted out for the things he needs for work.

Ah that makes sense - thanks for clearing that up, had been puzzling me!
