Removing rear seat backs

Featured Replies

Considering changing the seats in the Octavia, and wondered if it's a simple job to remove the rear seat backs

I'm OK with the side bolsters and the seat squabs, they are pretty straightforward

Any advice would be gratefully accepted

Very easy, Had them out, apart from undoing the centre seat belt so I could feed a cable under the carpet. If I remember, its just one bolt holding down a metal plate between the to halves of the seats, when they fold flat you should see it. Lift the seat from the middle only till there free from the bracket then pull away from the wall towards the opposite side of the car and they should pull free. Not sure about undoing the seat belt as I only pushed the back part out the way. What you got planned now?

Think that is what your after.

Spot on thanks - will have a crack at it later

If the plan comes to fruition I'll divulge what it is in due course - there is currently a small issue with the centre seat belt, which appears to be 'locked', and may need replacement - if so it could be quite pricey :S
