my first question on here as an oldbie Superb owner and newbie Octy owner.

When starting the car, the engine sounds almost similar to my old Tdi for about 2 seconds until it fires up then all is normal.

Oil pressure fine, light goes out immediately, car drives fine no obvious faults, apart from temp sensor needs doing (temp gauge has a mind of it''s own).

Having not heard another vRS starting dont know if its normal?

Secondary air pump sound a possible cause. rivets starts to go, causing air to leak out. There are a few threads on this.

Starter motors can stick as well; can make a bit of a racket.

Again, there are quite a few threads.
