CAN-connector wiring scheme

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've exchanged the Stream MP3 for a Pioneer AVH-3200BT. So far I've used the Parrot Car-Iso-Car connector to connect the Pioneer but this cable is far from ideal.

In order to establish proper connection, I bought this Car-to-ISO adapter:

I am looking for a wiring scheme for the big black connector. Mainly, I want to know where to insert a switched +12V (if not already present) and where to insert wires for the rear speakers I still have to install (provided the wires aren't installed yet).

Also, the Stream MP3 went off only after pulling out the key from the ignition lock, a great feature, I think. The Pioneer already turns off when switching off the engine (so before pulling out the key). This is a bit annoying as phone calls are terminated upon switching off the engine. Any thoughts on how to make the Pioneer stay on untill pulling out the key?

Thanks for the help!

You might not get a switched 12V supply from the back of the radio, the unit may be switched off by the CAN-bus. If this is the case, it can be solved by buying a piggy-back fuse connector and finding a free/suitable location in the fuse box which is switched on/off with the ignition (Remember when testing to completely remove the key to get the 12V switch off).

The piggyback fuses can be found on eBay or you may be able to get a suplly in the Netherlands as they are made (or at least distributed from) there.
