Back to rollin' on 16's

Featured Replies

That's right folks. Finally making use of the Bora SE rims I bought ages ago at a snip.

Here she is back rollin' on 16's with fresh Toyo T1-R's upfront for Castle Combe tomorrow . I quite like the chunkiness of wheels on the fabia. I'm thinking they'd look awesome in gloss black :p

I'd forgotten how comfy the ride is on 16's :giggle:

More to the point - What's the 'Orange' about? - Painting them Orange? :giggle:

Also not got enough stickers on there.... Disappointed.

I think they look great !

A subtle change from going 17" S3 wheels, plus, they look bigger that 16's !

Winner :)

Sorry Jonny, preferred your black OEM's.

I really like them. Your car lowered?

All in good time. The VW badging is a little stubborn :smirk:

I think they'd look good in a mid anthracite colour. Do 17s reduce the ride quality that much then?

Not that much TBH. It is noticably less crashy on 16's on the Cr4p roads round here though.

They look good - don't think I've seen one on Boras before

Yep, compliance is better on 16s IMO. It's why I stuck with 16s of various flavours on the Fabias, after dabbling with 17s of varying guises!

are they the same ones you bought aaaages ago? :p

 They sure are. Been in the garage for way too long.

They look good! ;) would look pretty smart with a colour combo on them!

hi there,

i have just bought a set of these thinkin gonna get them re-sprayed in black aswell. They do look quality on your car, is there any skoda centre caps available which will cover up the wheel bolts or the vw badge or do the standard fabia vrs wheel centre caps fit in the small hole in the middle?

thanks

steve

They suited the fabia at combe and I liked the funky orange centre caps............................it was orange wasn't it :S

Will agree that going back to 16's from 17's the ride is slightly better on rough roads

The VW badges are attached to the plastic centre caps not the wheels. The centre caps can be pushed out from the rear of the alloy. be careful removing the badges from the centre caps as mine needed some sanding afterwards to remove the residual glue, and some marks from me being over zealous with the screwdriver :giggle:

Yeah sorry that's what I meant to say lol. ah I see so there glued on I mite try heating them with a hair dryer to soften the glue first before I attempt to screwdriver them off. I'll get sum pics up in the future when there ready to go on the car.

  • 1 month later...

my bora alloys are finally going into the workshop over the weekend so hopefully ill have them back some time next week and ill b able to posts sum pics. still not sure what colour to go for though. i was thinking maybe a satin black as i have a black car but not sure if too much black will be a good look or not so was thinking maybe anthracite. we will have to wait and see :)

fook me the orange stands out emoticon-0136-giggle.gif ....emoticon-0148-yes.gif
