Hi Guys,

Any help really appreciated here - I've had a '03 Octavia brought to the workshop with Remote Central Locking not functioning. Someone has had a go at fixing the problem and the car has arrived with the drivers door stripped out and a new Central Convenience unit fitted. Rebuilt the door earlier and did a quick scan - here's what its showing. Literally started using VCDS last week!!

Check the red/yellow wire in the centre row of the plug at the door control unit, it may not be obvious but it could be broken. Do the codes returned when they are erased? You can check in the measuring blocks as to whether the convenience unit is registering a signal from the remote.

The convinience unit is not in the door, it is behind the light switch.

Thanks! I'll check the red/yellow wire in the morning. The trade guy who brought it to me already had it booked into Skoda to have the convenience unit coded today - it came back to me this afternoon after being coded with exactly the same symptoms.

Will look at the measuring blocks too, haven't used them yet so may need a little bit of help there - Sorry to be a pain, your help's really appreciated.

Cheers.
