Faulty Central Locking

Featured Replies

Hello

Octy just developed a new fault - passenger door won't unlock with the central locking. This started as an intermittent fault last week and is now constant. I notice that the interior light now goes off as soon as the driver's door is shut instead of staying on for a few seconds. Would this be related to the passenger door problem?

Any pointers on switches to clean / connections to check would be appreciated.

Its a 2001 4x4 estate.

Cheers

Sounds like a microswitch in the door lock mechanism. If so, it is DIY-able if you can source a suitable microswitch, but tricky. A dealer will tell you to get a new lock mechanism but this is expensive.

Common fault, fairly east repair, quite a few How to repairs on here, try a search and enjoy the reademoticon-0136-giggle.gif
