Quick 312mm caliper question

Featured Replies

Do the calipers and carriers off a VW Golf V GTI fit?

quick answer - no.

I not sure of the reason (it has been mentioned in a few threads, but I really cannot remember), but sadly, they defo do not fit.

Bugger! I remember reading somewhere about the carrier bolt hole spacing is different but for some reason thought this didn't apply to the Golf V.

Just bought some so will have to re-sell :(

(note to self - check before buying next time!)

Caliper (carrier) to hub bolts are the wrong distance they wont physicly fit.

Are the calipers the same? I.e. If I bought the correct carriers would the mkV calipers have the same fixing points as mkIV carriers (caliper to carrier fixing points)?

Pretty sure the calipers are alloy on the MK5 unless someone knows different. Don't know if they fit the early carriers though.

dont see why they wouldn't fit..... the only other thing you may need to look at is hoses.

Should have read this earlyer the guy at work had both a MkIV and MkV sets under his desk.... untill he fitted the MkIV to his and the MKV to his brothers golf.

Does anybody know the caliper to carrier bolt spacing on the mkIV's?

There's the issue of finding some mkIV carriers too, any ideas?
