How do I find out what version Sat Nav I have?

Featured Replies

10-plate vRS, built end of June.

Had an issue on holiday that it simply didn't have some new roads in the Nav, despite the fact they've been open for over a year!

So, need to know how I can find out that I defo have the latest maps, etc?

Cheers.

I take it this is the built in one or are you talking about a TomTom or other PND?

built in sat nav

I think you'd be better off asking this in the ICE, Security & Insurance forum.

Version 6.1 is the latest version, only way to find out if you have it is to insert the 6.1 disk into the nav, if you dont it will ask you if you want to copy it to the HDD. Otherwise you'll need VCDS to see what version is actually loaded.

...even if you have the latest maps they are based on the 2008 teleatlas maps...anything in the last 2 years will not be included, the next update is due in the last quarter of this year ( so I'm led to believe) and they are based on late 2009 maps

OMG, TeleAtlas mapping! If it's as bad as the mapping on a TomTom (whom I believe own TeleAtlas) then I think you'll have wasted your money on a Columbus system.

I've got two sat navs (don't ask) a TT750 Live & Garmin 3790T (4th one) & whilst the Live services on the TT750 are way in front of the Garmin's traffic system, the mapping of the Garmin is vastly superior to that of the TT750, which when I drive along the A358 near Combe Florey puts me as driving along the West Somerset Railway!

For those who don't know Garmin uses Navteq maps, which are brilliant.

Just got car newly delivered with built in Navi and CD version 6.1.

Unfortunately, it was clear within 5 minutes that maps were not up todate (couldnt find my home address.......).

I previously had a small little mobile Garmin 250 Navi with live map updates, which was much more accurate.

Disspointed in that. Otherwise everything else fantastic !
