A nice little discovery

Featured Replies

After wondering what the strange lines were on the driver's door mirror for the last two weeks, I decided to cover up the daylight sensor on the interior mirror to trigger it's dimming function, lo and behold the door mirror dimmed as well! : :o

What a nice little discovery that was. It doesn't have an electric driver's seat either, in fact the only major additions were the spare wheel and TPM.

Is this now standard on the MY11 Elegance? Or a fortunate misbuild?

Also, when the relevant button is pressed on the centre console the maxi dot informs me the 'TCS system' is switched off, is this what was formerly called ESP or is it just ASR? If the latter I won't be at all happy.......

That is crap.

I've been through the brochure time and time again and no mention of it at all :wonder:

It's not that hard to accurately list what a car has is it?

If you have an Elegance spec then you have ESP, however the latest systems only let you disengage the Traction Control System, or in old money ASR

TP

That is crap.

Nope it is not indeed. But SUK seems to be run by a bunch of marketing people that really know nothing about cars and really don't care much about getting the details right either.

Not the brochure - the manual !!

Page 68 in the manual:

Automatic dimming exterior mirror*

The exterior mirrors are dimmed together with the interior mirror. If the automatic dimming is switched on, the mirror dims automatically depending on the light striking the mirror from the rear.

When the interior lights are switched on or the reverse gear is engaged, the mirror always moves back into the basic position (not dimmed).

My 2009 model elegance has an external dipping rear view mirror and it works very well. B)
