Vrs prices

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm in the market for a Vrs. I've been looking primarily at Mk II cars but am open minded and see no reason not to consider a Mk 1 too (and see one good reason in favour, namely, they don't cost as much). I have a reasonably clear idea of the sort of price I should pay for a Mk II of a given age and mileage and so on, but I'm less certain about a Mk1 so I'd welcome some advice.

For example, I've spotted one not far from where I live, sold by a dealer of some sort (no forecourt but fancy website): 05 reg, 46k miles, 1 owner, FSH.

Another that looks appealing on the face of it (private sale and about 100 miles away but in a place I have reason to visit anyway): 02 reg, 56k miles, 1 owner, FSH

What do people think is a decent price for cars like these?

I can add links to the specific cars if you prefer but I didn't want to prejudice your responses :)

Thanks for any help.

Well I bought mine in March this year (silver hatchback), 03 plate 69k miles, full Skoda history including cambelt and water pump change, it was up for £4500 from an independent dealer but paid £4300 including new MOT and 12 months road tax.

Also that was a dealer near London so prices are a bit higher then they would be up north.

I paid 3800 for an '03 with 53000 miles, long mot, no tax, and 9 months arnold clarke warranty.

got 05 with 57k and full skoda warranty for 5750 at start of year

Dealer has taken mine off me, a 52 plate with 94'000 miles on for.......

£2100

but, tyres are only just legal, pads and disks needed all around, its due a service and MOT, but the cambelt was done in 2008 (I left it til 70'000 miles)

Its also still on the original clutch and exhaust, hence why we decided to get a new one, rather than spend out putting all that right

Its been an amazing car tho, and did a 300 mile trip in it yesterday, didnt miss a beat

Steve

picked up my 01 plate with 66k on the clock, 2 previous owners, full skoda history for £3200 off ebay around 6 months ago. came with upgraded diverter valve, new coil pack/cambelt/water pump, koni fsd's/h&r's, new tyres, 10 months MOT & 4 months tax.
