Minimal warm air from heater

Featured Replies

I've got an '07 PD140. I have had the heater on it's minimum setting all through spring & summer but the recent cooler weather had me turning up the heater temperature the other night. I need to turn it fully clockwise before any heat at all comes out of the vents. The system is the basic heater with air con (non- climatronic). Car runs at normal temperature & heater fan works fine. I'm going to have a look for the heater valve, does anybody know if this is just a simple cable controlled valve ?. Might be air in the system ?. Any suggestions what / were to look much appreciated.

Cheers

John

First thing to check is the coolant level.

An airlock can usually be cleared by bouncing the front suspension, although sometimes parking and running the engine while facing up a steepish hill can help.

Check these out before messing with valves etc!!!

They don't normally air lock providing as stated there is coolant in the system.

The temp flap is still motor controlled so that needs checking out with vag com

Thanks for the replies. Interesting to note it uses a motor controlled flap. Is this easy to access so I can see moving when the temp dial is adjusted ?
