Featured Replies

Hi all,

ive been promising to do this for some time but finally got round to a quick detal/winter protection clean and wax. car actually showed up very well and sorry havent taken many final pics im afraid, time was short, few hours to be honest :( did do an extra hour or so on application of coats over few days.

car looking a little dirty, although the colour does show up very little dirt compared with my black A5, which can be annoying  the wife does like to gloat at that :rofl:

Good work B) I keep meaning to do mine but the weather is against me, just taken a nice delivery from elite car care to :dull:

Haven't had mine long enough to detail yet (a few weeks) so looking forward to what snow foam, maxi suds, jetseal 109 and collinite 476 can do to race blue

Great job matey

It's a nice motor mate and some good work gone on there, nice to see the wheels off as well..........

Pretty sure that Optiseal and 845 will hold up well over the winter............

thanks :) yip wheels came off after the wheel bolt drama! i always like to get them off and put on some grease to prevent them siezing on. they took some cleaning but showed up well and sealed with poorboys stuff.

just thought id try that combination, nothing ventured and all that. both went on well and shine is great. amazing what the clay takes off even after all the pressure washing, apc, snow foam etc

Ah, yes I had forgotten about the wheel bolt issues.................... :S

Layering is always a good way to get a feel for the products and it is always amazing how much contamination is on the car that clay will remove........

Not a problem Kenny, glad to be of some help.......

It's like one big happy family

Silver's always tricky to photograph, and to show off the gloss and depth you can get from it. All that ends up is the light reflecting off it and you get a very 'light' photo as a result....

Nice job!

I've just picked up my first Skoda, and need to prep it for winter. I think winter has well and truly set in here in Scotland - what I'd give for a big garage out of the rain and cold!

This is my first black car, and it seems to show up every splash. I have some Blackfire left over from my dark blue RX-8 - that should look good on it.

What a coincidence to see Baker21 on here - I've admired your work on Detailing World for a while.

Mike.

Are there any winter prepping guides about? If not would someone like to do a writeup?

I'm hoping to do it this weekend (weather permitting).

I'll give that a try once I've used up my existing stuff.

When I bought the stuff from Polished Bliss, my wife commented that it was more expensive than her posh face creams. I replied "But just look at my car - no wrinkles!", and instantly regretted it! :D

I've noticed a few minor scratches and a little swirling, so I'll get my DA out when I get a chance and the weather permits. Black Magic does look very good when the sun hits it

I tried getting some done over the weekend - but completely forgot about how dark it gets quickly.. and the temp dropped so left me with ice on the car..

Will have to redo it next weekend (when clocks go back) will have an extra hour of daylight.
