Just bought an 05 Octavia 2.0 TDi PD 140 Elegance with 64k miles and apart from few hiccups at the start (long storybought from a dealer in Preston) it is the best car I have owned so far.

Having read a lot on this forum though, I could be in for a rocky ride in the future!!

I think the major word in your sentence is COULD, dont forget that on most sites only issues are reported, & generally a majority of people have no issues.

Take it week by week with the car, you could be one of the majority that has only has wear & tear replacements to do.

Dont let the negativity you read spoil what is basically an excellent value for money car.
