Road Rage

Featured Replies

I finished work last night at 10.15pm I had one of my staff in the car with me who lives up the road from me so I normally give her a lift when we work together.

So as I was driveing through Wyke i noticed a young Asian lad in Seat Leon come up behind and sit on my bumper as its a 20mph zone with massive speed bumps I ignored him. He then started speeding up behind me then slowing down no idea why? Thought hes just being a muppet so left him to it.

When I got to the 40mph zone just before we reached the dual carriage way he over took me nearly hitting an oncoming car.

As I turned onto the dual carriage way he was about 4 car lengths in front of me he slowed down as if he was going to turn off started to turn then swerved back in front of me and sped up so again I left him to it.

He pulled of onto the slip road that I needed as he got half way up it he slowed down to 10mph no where near the roundabout and then straddled both lanes? He eventually moved over so I passed him and turned off for Wibsey he decided to follow and sit on my bumper. As there is loads of speed bumps I carried on ignoring him for a mile or so until I reached the roundabout when he started to flash his lights at me and swerving side to side an inch off my bumper so I stopped so I could ask him polity what had upset him so much. But as soon as I stopped he reversed back down the road?

So off I went sticking to speed limits he then over took me and slowed to 5mph????? Sticking to the middle of the road so I couldn’t pass at this point I think I had been a saint for the last 10 mins but my patience had been pushed a little to far as soon as an on comeing car had passed I floored it past him and went on my way home.

There was no way he was keeping up in his low spec seat but what was the point did he have some thing to prove idiot

Rant over.....

God, what a douchebag that bloke was.

I had something similar years ago when I had an Astra GTE (I know, I know). Driving down a one-way street onto Brighton Seafront when some fool comes up the wrong way. There was nowhere for me to go due to the line of cars behind so I politely said to him he'd have to back up. He had no choice to do so but as I emerged onto the Kings Road he crawled right up my back bumper and proceeded to follow me at that distance all round the town! Feeling annoyed I took him on a little jaunt around the local area and finally lost him on a dual carriageway as he was driving a sh*tbox.

One question, why oh why oh why?

Unfortunately I see to be getting the same problems in my civic, not had any quite as 'determined' as your guy but its still bloody annoying.

I had a young chap in a corsa attached to my bumper as I drove the car out of the estate from where I bought it from! Seems to be an everyday thing for me when driving through the town centre, usually from someone in an escort gti or equivalent.

Sounds like you had some good patience, think I would of lost it with him!

patience was tested but to be honist when i say i was going to polity ask him what had up set him what a realy ment was :punch::finger::swear::@:wall::devil::ninja: :strong:

Oh dear ... what a fool :(

happens all the time, I was in my BSM fiat 500 just now and got raged at, while driving absolutley correctly.....

2 lanes bothe going straight ahead in town, a zebra crossing, stopped us but there are always parked cars in the left lane, car in front of me moved left (why i don't know as there are parked cars in that lane a few meters up, I stayed in the right, but back half a cars length so the car in front could get in front of me when he reached the parked cars... guy behind me in a premera moved to the left lane as well (behind me) i just drove off normally, letting the guy in front move to my lane, guy behind me tries to drive up the inside of me then into me, couldn't fit, pulls out behind me raging!!!!

I was simply driving absolutley correcty, in the correct lane, he was trying to undertake in the face of parked cars... what an arse.....

I get used to it, I poliotley asked him if he wanted to stop and discuss his lack of forward observation and lane disciplin, but he declined...

very odd behaviour, emoticon-0112-wondering.gif

think i will

I'd report that to the police, reg plate or not.

Especially as there's a witness, so it's a bit less of a case of "I said he said".

Not entirely sure if they'd do anything about it, but at least you tried! :)

we have a saying where im from it goes as follows... smack the Tw@!

could have been pi$$ed up i guess emoticon-0112-wondering.gif

could have been pi$$ed up i guess emoticon-0112-wondering.gif

or similar if you know what i mean emoticon-0149-no.gif

Fabia vRS's seem to attract w.....s like that. Happens all the time

I get the same. Some crazy bint in a Toyota Yaris 1.0...

I have never seen a car move so fast...she must literally be hammering the hell out of the car as she is bumper to bumper with my 3.0i Z4 every morning.....

Every bloody morning..

I had a micra trying to overtake me last night on a single lane road whilst I had my 9 month old baby in the back and I clearly had the baby on board sign up on the rear window, and he failed because he ran out of road :giggle: then decided to look as tho he is in my boot

Its the attitude people have towards the Skoda Badge unfortunatley we will get this alot.. if provoked it soon puts them in their place!

Interesting thread and poeples view definately differs depending on the type of car you drive.

Also odd that I find they tend to be not what you'd expect. Like smaller people getting all demented because they are protected by a metal box and have a personality change.

Odd how often they refuse to stop too.

I had one decide to turn right on a roundabout from the left, lane 1 of 3. Had been folowing me and trying to pass for some time. No problem, I was in lane 2 and going straight over. Front of the 206 hit the rock slider below the passenger door, rear wheel of the landy came along, pushed in the wing and spat the headlight out... Driver vanished so fast I never even got the reg number. Still went and spent an hour reporting it just in case he wanted to be clever. Cost to fix: 0.

You did well not to react to the idiot, me i would have blown my top and dragged him out of his car and then asked why was he being a complete knob.

I would have just flashed him over, and done a jay off the inbetweeners (jump all over his car)

 FRIEND  !!!!!

I didn't want to say it for fear of being called racist, though I can't help but agree. Of course idiots come in all shapes, genders, ages, races and sizes, but if it happens in Bradford chances are it's a young Asian lad in my experience. I suspect it must be an Asian "Macho" thing which plays a stronger part in their culture. Plus you only have to look at the stats to see Bradford is the worst locality for numbers of uninsured drivers and staged accident insurance scams.

I'm sure most are law abiding decent citizens and motorists, let down by an unfortunately sizeable number of bad ones.

hi new member here from Bradford on the lookout for a Fabia VRS :)

im an asian from bradford and i dont think theres anything racist about it, these idiots have pushed up all our insurance, my insurance should be going down but it goes up every year even with no claims discount :(

i'm still lucky because i have friends who have 1.0, 1.3's and are paying £2000 every year just for insurance! their cars arent even worth that much!
