ideally you want the car properly washed with no wax etc on it before claying, remember what you're trying to do is take off any really small contaminents off the paint that you cant see, you dont want to be clogging up the clay with extra rubbish. However if you are planning to clay your brand new superb then i'd hang fire a bit the paint should be pretty clean so you will probably find little benefit to this. If you are wanting to make the car look amazing then i'd suggest spending on some very good polish etc and getting your detailing routine down

You might as well as when you clay the car you are trying to get rid of any imperfections stuck into the paintwork, so the cleaner the car is the better surely?

One thing I have wondered for a whilst now is does snow foam strip the wax off a car like TFR would?

You should wash your car thoroughly before claying so if your wash process includes snow foam then yes :)

I have answered in the other thread.

BTW the mods are not keen on the same thread / questions being posted in multiple sub forums.

Snow foam if mixed in the correct proportions will not strip wax.

In winter i often just pressure wash, then snow foam and then pressure wash off and leave to dry naturally if its too cold or horrible to wash the car properly

Topic moved from Superb 2 and merged with existing one in styling and car care.

I would do this:

1. Snow Foam and rinse

2. Warm/Hot water in a bucket with a good squirt of washup liquid (+another bucket with plain water to wash out the wash mitt after every application) .... then rinse again

3. Clay the car a section at a time..I use Bilt Hamber Clay which uses water as the lubrication

4. Snow foam again and rinse

5. Dry wih MF cloth

Your paint is now in perfect condition to apply whatever products you need

I use Bilt Hamber Finis Wax..No polish or sealer needed with this product!!!

Good luck

I am pretty sure that some similar questions were asked and answered in one of your other posts................. :|

Have a look at the 'stickies' at the top of this section, plenty of information there but in summary you would and should clay your car before applying Snow Foam if it's brand new, although you may think it should be super clean it will have picked up a lot of contaminents on it's route from Czech so the clay will bring this off, be careful however not to marr the paint in the process............ ;)
