i am fairly new to this forum having joined a couple of weeks ago after i ordered my car

i would like some advise on my order if possible

octavia vrs ordered 14th sept with £500 deposit

dealer wrote delivery tba on the order form but estimated delivery as late dec / early jan

i rang them today for an update and they told me

because the order is so new they cant give a definitive date yet ??

is this the norm or do i need to push them for an answer.

other people who have ordered seem to have at least a build date

Unfortunately, Skoda have got themselves in a pickle. Demand for the Octavia has outstripped supply, meaning that the normal 12 week delivery period has been doubled in some cases. For example, I ordered a VRS estate in June expecting delivery in early October. This is now likely to be Dec or Jan. Many others have similar experiences, yet some have had shorter periods to wait. It all seems very hit and miss. It may depend to some extent on the body style and spec of yor car. (eg: estate, DSG, sunroof etc etc)

I would be asking for some clarification in the coming weeks as supply starts to catch up with demand.

As it is only 2 weeks since your order I would hang fire a little personally.

I know that there are some new buyers on here who like to track their car from order religously; (sattelite pics et al) however my approach is a little more laid back along the lines of:

"Ok give me a call when it's here..."...realistically, how can the dealer speed things up for you ?

My advice, give them a call in maybe 2 weeks and see how the land lies then.
