Head Lights

Featured Replies

Has anyone out there noticed anything about the head lights and the running lights having a mind of their own and that sometimes they were on and sometimes off. I have noticed that one comes on and goes off or sometimes they both come on.

Maybe you have noticed the cornering fog lights that are in the same housing as the DRLs. When you indicate and/corner below 40km/h the relevant fog light dims up to improve visibility. Stick the lights on, run the engine and turn the wheel to see it.

The headlights are automatic and will come on if the sensor thinks it is necessary.

I don't need to be indicating for my cornering lights to come on.

If you indicate or corner below 40km/h the relevant fog light will illuminate to assist visibility, this only works if the light switch is in the auto position, covered in the handbook.

Leaving the light switch in auto is not a good idea as Xenon bulbs do not like switching on and off a lot this will reduce their life considerably, this has been covered in the forums.

No, if you corner below 40km/h they come on according to the steering angle. I thought this was only possible if the headlights were actually switched on either manually or automatically when the light sensor demands it.

My lights are always left in auto, i changed my xenon lamps at 120,000 miles but the light output was still satisfactory.
