Noisy Air Conditioning

Featured Replies

My 2005 Mk 1 Superb Elegance 1.9 diesel Auto has just developed a problem. The air conditioning/climate control has just started to become rather noisy although it still seems to work ok. (I'm not talking about the fan). I have listened under the bonnet but can't really detect where the noise is coming from. The car is quite low mileage at 46k. I had the cam belt changed fairly recently. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions!

Will probably be the regulator, get your head down by the glovebox and listen for what sounds like something fouling the fan unit.

Had the same problem. Turned out to be a leaf in the fan. :giggle:

I think I have cured the problem - in my case I think it was the bonnet release cable that was touching the edge of the fan. I say think, because despite the fact the noise has stopped, I have noticed a slight burning smell in the car, but as I haven't driven anywhere yet will see what happens! Many thanks for the replies.
