Wind Noise in vRS

Featured Replies

Does anyone else get excessive wind noise in their Octy vRS? At anything above 50mph is becomes loud enough to need to raise my voice slightly to talk to passengers.

The noise definitely comes from the windscreen area and isn't the problem I've already read aboutwith the speakers being un-covered at the back.

It looks like the windscreen has been replaced at some point (sucker pad marks on the windscreen when I picked it up) so might it be possible that the windscreen glass isn't sealed properly? It doesn't appear to leak though.

Any help appreciated.

In all honesty, my old man's Octy L&K Estate seems rather noisy around the top of the windscreen. I don't know if the sunroof adds to the noise but it does seem noisier than my ex-furby RS. It's definately windnoise and not road / tyre / engine noise.

Well my one does not suffer this way. The new model Octavia drove had bad wind noise caused by the rear side windows, but that is apparantly the subject of a recall to reseat the glass. Sound like your screen is not properly fitted.

Maybe the screen is not 100% sealed with the "glue" ?

Or are the wipers perhaps "too high" or are no genuine parts ??

Wipers do not talk about wipers, skoda do not seem to know how to make wipers. Both the old 1.6 and the vRS have noisey wipers, and also wipers that do not obey the control stalk, ie keep going randomly after being switched off, and often stop half way across the screen when they do stop. No dealer seems to have been capable of fixing this in either car.

No wind noise on my old one.

Wipers? Mine are fine although passenger side never seems to clear completely, always leaving a band of smeared sh

had this once in a mondeo. the windscreen was replaced badly and not sealed properly and got the company back to refit another new one. if you can trace the company who changed it it should be covered by warranty which should be transferable (i think).

certainly my octy vRS is as quiet as a mouse.

No wind noise on my old one.

From what I remember of your exhaust I doubt if you would have noticed wind noise, mind you it did sound good !
