Gearbox prob!

Featured Replies

Hi peeps.

Was passed onto you guys by the people at seatcupra.net.

We have the vRS at work and they are very good cars, much better than the old 2.5 v6 mondeos we used to use.

A problem has been encounterd more than once. When driven VERY hard it is sometimes difficult to get the car out of gear. Especially 1st or second. You have to wait till the car cools down until it goes back to normal. Also the gear box seems quite notchy as well, is this normal?

The one at my place has 14000 miles on a 54 plate so it has been used very hard.

seems to be a common problem with VAG gearboxes, heard that a gearbox oil change can sort it. Usually happens to me coming out of reverse. I'll be getting my dealer to have a look at it at the next service

Reverse does seem to be a problem as well, especially when going straight to 1st.

Il try and get the oil changed.

Cheers.
