Bolero quadlock connector

Featured Replies

Just wondered if anyone could tell me if the quadlock connections on the rear of the Bolero are the same as on the mp3 Stream (where it was last used) as I've got a bluetooth kit that could (maybe) easily be connected.

Arent the Aux-in + CD changer earths in a different position?

Identical I think.

swapped my Audi iPod adapter over from my old A3 to my Octy - plugged it in and all was fine.

Thanks - looks like a project then.

I've just come across a little problem - the quadlock supplies the permanent 12v to the bluetooth perfectly but the centre console doesn't appear to have a switched 12v to auto enable/disable the kit as the pre FL car did.

Any idea on which fuse I should be looking at for tapping off?

IIRC they don't use a switched live with CAN.

In SWMBO's Golf I tapped into something that was obviously a switched live (but I also checked it as well) like the wipers.

I'm just in the process of checking the fuse box but probably need to remove the light switch to then remove the dash panel. I seem to remember that it just needs pulling when its in a certain position. What's that position though?

Isn't it something like push the knob in whilst turning it halfway been off and position 1?

Spot on.

Some of the mini-fuse slots at the top of the fusebox are ignition live, I tapped into them to power my extra 12v socket and camera locator

That's true Keith - with one caveat!

Don't turn on the ignition without the fuses being in or you're liable to get the dreaded airbag warning light coming on - luckily shark_90 came to the rescue. Thanks Ben.

I was told I needed a Relay Harness to get a switched live.

Bump

Has anyone on here done fitted a relay harness just to get a swictched live?

Cheers

Well all I can say is that I didn't! It just plugged straight in to one side of one the fuse holders with a bayonet type connector. Obviously it was an appropriately fused connection though.

No need if your using the fuse box slots, if your tapping into other wires then a relay makes sense i guess. It far easier to run a wire from the fusebox. I bought the repair wire from the dealer (£2) so you can fit it into the rear of the fusebox, looks OEM when you look into the fuses side of the fusebox.

Cheers for the reply. I do need it to be switched though. Sorry for the ignorance. Its for parking sensors and I want it to be only active when the car is in reverse. Please correct me if I do or don't need it set up like this.

Does that make it switched?

Does that make it switched?

It was switched in the sense that it had power as soon as the ignition was on - nothing to do with the car being in esrever - geddit! B)

Does that make it switched?

If you mean switched, as in its only live when the ignition is on then yes, depending on which fuse slot you choose. Some are permanent live and others are only live when the ignition is on.
