iPod

Featured Replies

Was thinking of getting an iPod.

I now know that Blaupunkt do a holder with built in interface which utilises the autochanger controls. I can also get an iTrip an use it in SWMBOs car.

Anyone used an iPod in their motor? Any good?

Cheers.

not yet. but planning on it,theres a lead that replaces the changer for an ipod(not sure but it may only be the mini)

The itrip is ****e.

KILLS batteries. You're better off with a belkin unit - self powered and much better.

If you REALLY REALLY want an itrip i'll sell you mine ;)

I have an ipod interface running off my headunit and it is excellent. Biggest downside is with so much music, it's difficult to decide what to play at any time. :D

no one likes a show off :P

i have an itrip and use it in my fabia and i dont have a problem with it sound-wise however it does eat battery power.

Thanks for replies.....the iTrip would only by for SWMBO's car but I'd also get a car charger for that so I guess it would be ok?

Now here's a choice..iPod or FMIC? Of course the iPod is cheaper and SWMBO wouldn't bat an eyelid but........you can never have too much power. ;):D

FMIC all the way dude.

The itrip's still there if you want it ;)

I wouldn't recommend an iTrip or any of those FM style transmitters. I got my iPod before any decent kind of 'in car interfacing' became available. I use my iPod via a high quality 3.5mm to phono cable which plugs into my AUX-In on my head unit, I know this might not be ideal as there are now many more products available which may yield a better sound but I find this way OK to my ears.

I did an install for a friend who has an iPod and we installed an Alpine head unit to his Seat Leon Cupra with iPod interface box. The head unit can control the iPod which is quite neat and also the sound quality is very good.

Any further help just give me a shout,

Cheers

Hugh

I got an iTrip as an interim measure - seemed to work fine in the Avensis and Mondeo hire cars on holiday but in the Fabia somehow it's not as good. Seems to pick up lots of interference. Perhaps should try another frequency. And running the charger cable from the cigar lighter is a pain.

I fancy something like the Dension kit - anybody got any experience of that?
