Another mad dash through Germany.......

Featured Replies

The stats: 5000 km in 8 days. Average speed over the whole distance 85 km/hr, displayed mileage 15 km/l or 42 mpg. This trip was crisscrossing Germany to meet customers and introduce my successor. Included was a three day stint in Czech Replublic - Karlsbad to Chrudim to Cesky Krumlov with a little excursion into the Bohemian forests in the South.

There is nothing much to add, except the weather was perfect for driving and only a few Yetis were seen - three in Czech and two in Germany. Of the people in Czech that commented on the Yeti, most had the impression that it was a slightly different looking Roomster - slow and weird looking. Its real character has not yet been noticed and accepted.

Since tyres is a current interesting subject, I had the front-to-back switch done in Germany. The tyre shop inflated to 2.4 bar, which I kept the rest of the way. I normally run 2.3 bar. The little extra pressure did firm up the ride a bit and seems to fit the Autobahn OK. No harshness on concrete joints and even tyre temperatures all around and across the widthe of the thread. No incidents ( other that´n one little pictue taken in a small town in Germany) and no noticeable oil consumption.

Now 36,000 km on the clock total in 10 months.
