Oil Spec for 1.6 CR Tdi (105 bhp)

Featured Replies

Is the oil spec still VW 505.01 for the new 1.6 CR Tdi engines?

Also as I've ordered a new 105bhp 1.6tdi (which isn't due for delivery until Christmas/New Year) and i was wondering how do I check that the engine is the 105bhp version (rather than the 75 or 90 bhp version)?

Do the engines state on them the bhp? (I didn't see it on the test drive model).

Thanks

VW507.00 for anything with a DFP.

I have a 1.6Tdi CR 105 and have had it 3 weeks now. My first impressions are that it is incrediably quiet. I have done 600 odd miles so far and have got up to 63 mpg from it on a run. Providing you keep the revs up around 2000, it goes along well enough. Below 1750, the engine is sluggish compared to my old Octavia`s 1.9 PD Tdi but the refinement makes up for that!

With regards the 105BHP question, it states on the V5 that the car is a 105 and the TDI on the boot is in RED. On the 75 I test drove the TDI was in BLACK

Also the car goes like its got 105 horses under the bonnet!

Thanks Gizmo68 and threadbear - point noted about the revs

:)

Yes I am enjoying the 105 horses. The engine is different to the old 1.9Tdi PD that was in my Octavia. A few members have mentioned about the inflexiability of the 1.6 TDi CR but it appears to me that the gearing on this new engine is higher which would explain the certain inflexiabilty at low speeds.

Im my Octavia, 3000rpm in 5th gear=about 94mph

In my Fabia 3000rpm in 5th gear=about 98mph!! :giggle:

You have to watch your speed and the car is also so damn quiet!

The 1.6 TDi is a totally different engine but I like it and getting used to it. On a twisty A road run over to East Sussex I acheived 61mpg average.

Members have been raving over the TSi engine but I dont think that they have been achieving that sort of consumption?

Time people blew the TDi`s trumpet!

Grahame.
