Featured Replies

hiya all i wondering is ko3s hybrip the best way to get 290bhp or even is it possibal?

if so what mod are needed

it is very high end of the power

you would need all the mods under the sun like

water meths etc etc and an aggresive map to get that figure if poss has been seen on 1 car i know of but dyno lottery applied i think as its just been retested and onlyt made 281bhp

why r u chasing figures?????

IHI then?

In all fairness that probably wouldn't be all that nice to drive....everything would be so highly stressed with that little turbo wound up like that.

thanks thts a fair bit more money

the car i mention has had everything poss done to it and that got 280 so 290 really is only going to happen with a happy dyno on the day

more bhp doesnt mean the fastest track car

what suspension etc etc are you running

also 1/4 mile times in an octy prob not best car to do it in

Hybrid holset HX?? + WaterMeth + NOS + Orange or dutchbuild.com haldex / syncro retro-fit + WOT box ?

Shift all the power to rear, put some big fat 245/40R18's on rear :giggle:

4x4 octy is a great car for 1/4 off the line the 4x4 is awesome and unsuspecting lol sleepers ftw

yep im sure yours will just be fine lol but then how much money has your build had put into it and not only that you know you have spent time researching and finding out what works and doesnt work

massive difference between your car and ops

Was just thinking what could be done, not what would be sensible to do :giggle:

An all out Octavia drag car would be quite cool though (complete with brake parachute) ;) ....

ps

Hybrid holset might not be such a silly idea, from what I've heard might fill the gap (in price and performance terms) between Hybrid KOx and Garret/IHI stuff ...

they deffo seem to be the new turbo on the market not many in this country have fitted them but i understand they love them in america

deffo seem to fit the void of small and big turbo very well

Taking it to Celtic Tuning, know they not that big on the stage 3 vag scene, but after speaking to them, they did seem to know their stuff.

power wise, I'm not reallyafter thrashing the balls out of the setup, but getting good usable road performance.

I guessing this might end up being between 300-340bhp, 350-400ft/lbs of torque. Hopefully sub 2000rpm boost threshold.

Going for another Octy yourself ?

should be a nice power setup and with that engine you can always decide to go for it at a later date lol

as for mapping go with who you feel confident with as they havent been big into bt tuning they may take even more time to make sure its perfect so might not be a bad direction

not a vrs evo 6 tme

im on 265bhp with 300lb ft with associated mods exc water meth, thats on a standard exhaust manifold too. (which i do have another to replace) nice and responsive, great for a daily. boosts from about 3k to the redline at a little over a bar

bring it down to devon and treat it to some of best roads in the country B)

I assume that's a hybrid KO3S ?

ps

Not really read anything about NOS on the 20v, anyone every tried it ?

( on a 20v that is ... :giggle: )

forget nos, not good for the engine at all,

get the right turbo setup to start!

or the right car.....for power for buck dont think you can beat an evo 6 (or 5 rs:>) just so much car for the money....would cost way more to do the same kind of tuning to the vrs/4x4

yeah hybrid k03s

forget nos, not good for the engine at all,

Its only hear-say - never seen any threads, on any forums, detailing where someone has tried nos on a 20v ...

Its been used on previous gen 20v engines ...

Still think it could be used alongside watermeth, effectively as a fuel enrichment system, mixing small amounts of nitrous with the watermeth.

Using pure O2 would probably have a similar effect. As well as enriching the fuel, it woud further cool the watermeth.

If I where buying now, not sure the Octy 4x4 would be on the list TBH.

EVO 5or6 / Scooby Type RA or RB / Audi S4

Yeah get one because I'm an engineer at Holset! I can be your inside man!

We've also recently launched a new product family for smaller engines (we've historically only made turbos for medium to heavy-duty diesel engines): http://www.publicservice.co.uk/press_story.asp?id=110

We've also recently launched a new product family ...

Looks promising. Are these different to the HX series ?

nitrous on a 20v turbo...try sub11 motorsport.
