Faint smell of petrol

Featured Replies

faint Smell of petrol from drivers side were the fuel lines come from the engine and into a plastic cover down the inner wing in front of the brake reservoir and behind the water filler. The pipes are not seated can anyone supply a drawing of how it should look as a couple of pipes are raised upwards.

And are you sure it's not AUQ engine code?

If it's a faint smell, presumably the evap line is the most likely culprit.

Best photo I have online:

Apologies guys it is AUQ, and from the diagram that skoda norm and rob have uploaded are the area in question for the smell.

The diagram of robs at the nunber 13 position were the pipes are connected, is the plastic a type of trunking/shield arrangement for the pipes are they push on connectors like the fuel filter.

Thanks for your help.

Yes they are push on connectors. And I think the black plastic is just trunking to make it look nicer and protect the fuel lines.

I was trying to work out the other day how to get the lid off without breaking it - I ran out of time in the end and gave up for now.

I wonder if your evap line has split or cracked? Though most likely is the joint where the line to the cannister snaps on.
