Dashboard illumination

Featured Replies

While I'm waiting for mine, I wondered what colour the instrument panel lighting was?

Anybody got a nice photo of it at night?

It's white.

It's VERY white. I would have loved it with VW blue/purple but there you go.

I can't get a decent picture but others may have more success.

Here is the night photo...

Don't forget, in daylight with the light switch in the off position the dials are still illuminated. I am impressed.

Some are a lovely Skoda green! I love it.

Some? Pretty much all are green. Good point as that covers the centre colsole, steering wheel and door window switches. It is just the dash display itself which is white

My only criticism of Skoda Green is that when you select the radio screen on the Columbus system, every "button" is bordered in green, except the station or option currently selected which is white. Looks nice, but difficult to differentiate between the two with a quick glance when driving. Rather than the white border, I feel a more contrasting colour should have been used if Skoda Green is the norm for everything else.

Or maybe it's just me! :giggle:

Here is another picture I just found on flickr showing the green:

Which clearly shows that the selected radio station (Heart) has a white border, all the rest green. Given the low position of the display, it is a shame that the selected button isn't a more distinctive colour than white, to aid recognition at a glance.

Agree with you there. I have not noticed before how invisible the selected funtion is being only white. Hmmm.

But it works in the exact same way in a VW:

They should have given it more of a shadow since the screen resolution is capable of this and has the colours there:
