Fabia vRS power chips???

Featured Replies

Hi there, I am seriously thinking about buying a vRS after having driven one( and after writing my Clio Cup off trying to defy the laws of gravity on a roundabout ).

The Fabia I drove was so quick I asked if it had been chipped( this was a dealership demonstrator ), but the answer was negative.

Now if they drive like that standard, I think I might get myself one...

However, I wonder about ECU remaps and other ways of chipping them. I gather there's Revo, Jabba and AMD to mention a few. Has anyone here had any of the above, and how was the drivability/acceleration affected?

Grateful for any advice, and I shall continue to hassle the wife about buying one!

Cheers! :)

You have just asked an open question :), there are quite a few with remaps, including the AMD 1 click.

Do a search on re map, and read away, there are plenty of posts.

Every one on here has their favourite chippers, so you will end up deciding for youself anyway.

My advice would be to buy the car "NOW" & stop thinking about it as no one here has regreted buying a vRS ( regadless of which one ). Drive it for a while, then decide what type of map you want ( kick in the ass or smooth delivery ).

Then a little more reading here, & speak to each of the companies, you'll then probably make your decision.

A few people here ( & I agree ) that if there is a company you are speaking to, and they start to slag off the competition - Walk away.

Welcome Bart

As Steve said, they're all pretty much of a muchness (but certainly not a muchness ;)) All of the major ones offer very good results from just a remap. I can only speak from my experience with my car that was remapped (was = my fabia has probably experienced something similar to your clio :() and it was an absolute rocket, yet with very smooth power delivery.

The nature of the 130PD engines is such that generally, the remap comes in quite gradually to save the clutch but the engine revs higher easily. I found my remap to make the car not just quicker, but a darn site more enjoyable and easy to use.

What that man said

And also, it is well worth getting used to the car and pile on a few miles (if buying from new) before getting it remapped. If you think they're fast enough as standard, then it makes waiting for the remap even more worthwhile imho :)
